The following was originally posted deep in a thread on the Five Hundy Facebook group, but to make it world-searchable, I’m cross-posting it here. I’d asked the group where to find basically disposable luggage in the tourist area, and after a bunch of suggestions, instead of picking one and going with it, I spent two hours walking the strip and poking my head into the far back corners of bodegas and souvenir shops.

I’ve lost much more of my gambling bankroll than normal this trip, so after dinner at Jaleo, instead of giving more to the video poker gods, I decided to get a conclusive answer to my question. Hint: nobody suggested the right answer, including me.
So, my criteria was that the suitcase had to be carry-on size, capable of holding a laptop bag, five textbooks, and a few other odds and ends, with wheels, and not so small that it would be awkward to use. I needed to find it in the tourist area. The results, from most expensive to the answer:
ABC Store next to Hard Rock Café: $60
CVS next to Park MGM: $56. Only hard case suitcases here.
Marshalls: $40
Ross: $36
Cable Center Shops (the skeezy strip mall Mike Gavin warned me of): $35 at One Stop Market, $40 each at neighboring Viva Vegas and Miyabia Gifts
Souvenirs Mini-Mart next to Travelodge had one for $25, but it had no internal framework. Not a duffel bag on wheels, it was an imploding rectangular blob on wheels. No.
There are no stores selling luggage at Hawaiian Marketplace. Walgreens by Hard Rock Café doesn’t sell luggage.
The winner, which was almost literally under my nose as I ate dinner: Jockey Club’s gift shop, $30.
